Multilingual DVD Produced for AG Hair Cosmetics

We have just wrapped up production of a series of videos for AG Hair Cosmetics, producers of high quality shampoo, conditioning, and styling products. This was a fairly large project for us which began last Spring.

The project centered around a multilingual Product Knowledge DVD. 6 videos were produced which detail the different product categories, with demonstrations and tips for use on each of the 48 individual products.

All of the videos on the interactive DVD include versions with subtitles and separate graphics in French, Spanish and Mandarin, for a total of over 2 hours and 15 minutes of original content.

"Basetwo Media was extremely organized, patient and an absolute pleasure to work with." Said Tatiana Jovic, AG's Manager of PR & Communications.

"The DVD looks phenomenal. We know it will be extremely well received by our salons, sales representatives and future clients."

On-screen segments were shot in our Vancouver production studio, and at the company’s head office and production facility in Burnaby, BC. New behind-the-scenes footage of a fashion shoot was filmed to be combined with existing archival material.

Our primary challenge was in how to present all of the products, for which many of the bottles had yet to be produced as the company is currently re-branding. Photo-realistic 3D rendering were created and animated for each of the products and categories, along with 3D text and supporting graphics.

Including all 4 languages, roughly 420 separate clips were rendered, for a total of over 25 minutes in 3D content, requiring an estimated 200 hours of computer rendering time.

10,000 units of the DVD are scheduled for delivery to salons around the world, and all of the videos will be uploaded to the company’s new website which will be launched soon.

Check out more behind-the-scenes photos from the shots on our Facebook Page.

"Basetwo Media exceeded our expectations, and it is certainly viewed in the end result. Our Product Manager had some VERY specific requirements and I believe they did everything possible to meet the challenges presented on our project", said Niki Taylor, Alco's Sales & Marketing Administrator.

"That is what makes me want to work with Basetwo Media again, you guys take the worry out of the situation, you solved problems, found solutions and completed the project on budget."

When asked how Alco will benefit from the videos, she went on to say: "Alco will be introducing a training program for our dealership network that will be better than anything else offered to date. We can expect that this program will help us retain and grow our dealership network which in turn will drive new business for Alco Ventures."

The resulting 60-minute series of instructional videos will be viewed online, distributed on DVD and displayed at trade shows around the world.
